Family Friendly Fridays

Go Historical outdoors with family learning activities from 10:30 am – noon each day and then enjoy the site on your own for the rest of the day!
July 9: Visit the Spinning Cottage porch in view of the Patuxent River to learn about Alice Elsa Kane and Grace Monroe and what it took to do laundry and cooking in the 1800’s.
July 16: Visit Sotterley’s Colonial Revival Garden to see and smell the flowers and plants, and what it takes to keep a huge, beautiful garden like this. Make a “Sweet Bag” to take home.
July 23: Learn and Play Colonial Games on Sotterley’s Riverside Portico! Rolling down the hill is always allowed!
July 30: Join us at Sotterley’s original 1800’s slave cabin along the path to Sotterley Creek to hear and see about family life and culture there.
Guided activities: 10:30 am – noon, with site admission.
$5 per person ages 6 and up, per day; children under 6 FREE.
$65 purchase family membership and bring your whole family to Sotterley all year!
