Transcending Generations through Storytelling
Story telling has always been a way to transcend generations to learn, heal, and share. Author Wanda Etheridge will share her life and journey of becoming a writer, encouraged by a desire to connect with her granddaughter. Ms. Etheridge’s works for the Department of Defense and with a career spanning over 20 years, three continents and two branches of service, she may be the most unlikely author of the children’s book, The Funny List. Join us as she shares the rich story of her life, her love of writing, and love of family that led to her new book. The Funny List is a delightful story written in the form of a limerick. A holiday story that introduces Mae, a highly energetic toddler, who creates the “funny list” loophole so all rambunctious imps can avoid the lump of coal set aside for those otherwise on Santa’s naughty list.
On August 21st & 22nd, 2020, Historic Sotterley will hold a two-day program continuing the 2019 theme and intuitive of Building Bridges to Common Ground: Resilience, Remembrance, Honor and Equity. CLICK HERE to support Sotterley’s efforts and programming that encourage Common Ground Initiative.
